Before parties file a complaint with the Syariah Court, they are encouraged to first
seek the advice and help of their own family members, particularly their parents, for a solution to their problem.
If they cannot enlist the help of family members, then they may seek the help of self-help organisations that provide counselling services, such as PPIS, AMP, MENDAKI dan mosques.
Married couples with domestic problems may avail themselves of the counselling services provided by the Counselling Unit of the Singapore Syariah Court. The Counsellors will do their best to help these couples settle their differences.
